Liz’s work helps young children learn and grow through the joy of making music.
Liz Buchanan is a musician, writer and visual artist. Over many years as a musician for children, she has specialized in creative ways to teach music and make connections to learning and development in early childhood, from infancy through age six.
She currently offers a musical storytime at 10:30 on Thursday mornings at the Pierson Library in Shelburne, Vermont, as well as monthly music programs at libraries in Colchester and Starksboro. She also teaches swimming to infants and young children at Burlington’s Y, filling the class with songs and movement activities.
Liz regularly shows her visual art in the Burlington area and is always glad to welcome visitors to her studio at The Green House.
Please contact Liz to find out more about scheduling musical performances for all ages or workshops for adults.
Liz holds a Masters in Education in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University, and an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She received her BA from Duke University.
The music programs that Liz Buchanan runs balance innovation, joy and structure beautifully … and they always have a healthy dose of patience and flexibility.

Thank you for the delightful musical gathering on Wednesday. I was happy that we had a good crowd to enjoy your wonderful medley of songs. Your excellent mix of tunes supported audience participation and kept everyone engaged.
